‘시’라는 발음은 한글에서 많은 의미를 가진다.
흐르는 시간을 뜻하는 시(時)로 발음되기도 하고
바라봄을 뜻하는 시(視)로 발음되기도 하며
비유와 운율의 문학인 시(詩)로도 발음된다.

입술 사이로 바람을 가르듯 흘러나오는 이 짧은 발음과, 이제껏 내가 해온 사진이 닮아있다고 느꼈다.

무력과 상실, 방황과 나아감의 시선으로 일상 속 현상과 형상들을 채집한다. 이로써 피사체들은 본래의 시공간으로부터 분리되어 나의 시각 언어로 번역되는 것이다. 단어들은 선택된 공간 속에 배열되어 리듬과 운율을 꾸리며, 내가 앓고-잃고-잊은 삶의 편린들에 대한 시로 재구성된다.

결국 <시>는 내 마음을 선택적으로 번역하고, 나아가 그것들로 시적 내러티브를 만들어가려는 시도인 셈이다.

The pronunciation of ‘Si’ in Hangul carries multiple meanings:
It can be read as ‘Si(時)’ meaning time,
Or as ‘Si(視)’ meaning sight,
And it can also be pronounced as ‘Si(詩)’ meaning poetry.

There are moments in life when we slowly sink into an invisible quagmire.

I collect everyday phenomena and shapes through the lens of powerlessness and loss, wandering and moving forward. Through this process, the subjects are translated from their original time and space into my visual language. The words are arranged in chosen spaces to create rhythm and rhyme, reconstructing them into poems about my suffering, loss, and forgetfulness.

Ultimately, 《Si》 is an attempt to selectively translate my inner thoughts and emotions, and to create a poetic narrative from them.
